Bailey Medical Center earns "A" grade from Leapfrog Group for spring 2023
The Leapfrog Group recognized Bailey Medical Center as a top-performing hospital in patient safety across the country. BMC received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2023, the nation’s most prestigious honor for patient safety. The hospital also received “A” grades for spring and fall 2022.
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns “A” through “F” grades to hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as harm-prevention systems hospitals have in place. It’s the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients.
“The Bailey Medical Center team is honored to once again receive this recognition from the Leapfrog Group,” said Scott Lasson, Bailey Medical Center CEO. “Our team works tirelessly to sustain a culture of safety built on evidence-based practices and ongoing error prevention training. Our multiple consecutive ‘A’ grades recognize the commitment of everyone at Bailey Medical Center and validates our daily efforts. Our achievement is especially meaningful considering the challenges all health care providers faced during the pandemic.”
In the spring of 2023, only nine hospitals in the entire state of Oklahoma achieved an “A” safety grade. This accomplishment highlights Bailey Medical Center’s dedication to patient safety and care and can only happen with the hard work each of our staff do every single day for our patients.
