Kayla Frye, APRN-CNP, FNP, specializes in women’s health. “My degree is in family practice; however, my background is primarily in women’s health as a labor and delivery/post-partum nurse,” Kayla said. “For the last five years, I’ve had the privilege of taking care of women in their most vulnerable state and that has definitely impacted my decision when choosing this specialty.”
Kayla began her career in health care as a nursing assistant while she was finishing up her high school education. She said, “I realized at that time that I have a true passion for taking care of people and knew this is the path I wanted to pursue.”
Now, as a nurse practitioner serving in women’s health, she says, “I pride myself on bringing empathy and compassion to the table. This involves actively listening to the patient’s thoughts and concerns regarding their health. My goal is to always advocate for my patients’ health and well-being.”
Kayla likes to remind patients that, “Prevention is key and education is your most important tool. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!”
Kayla’s education includes:
• Master of Science in nursing with an emphasis in family nurse practitioner (MSN-FPN) degree at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Health Sciences Center in Tulsa, 2022
• Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, 2017
Outside of work, Kayla likes to spend time with her husband and son, reading, cooking and traveling.
